also, i am proud to say that was my 1,000th post on here. i wouldnt dedicate it to anyone else.
if someone were to ask me today, who inspires me the most, i would not say my parents, or grandparents, a favorite athlete, or even a celebrity of any form. no, that honor goes to a single person. his name is Ian Boyer. he is a United States Marine. now, you hear all these stories about marines that change so much from being at war and overseas, but not him. ian is one of the most genuine, down to earth, passionate people i know. it really makes me proud to call him one of my best friends. a few months ago, he was in a traumatic motorcycle accident, after allegedly running from police. now why he ran, we still to this day, do not know. he has been in the hospital for the last 100 days. i was devastated and in disbelief when i heard about the accident. all we could do was pray. at the hospital, the doctors put him into a medically induced coma to keep him stable, since he had suffered a traumatic head injury, shattered femur, and various other injuries. over the past few months, his mother has been updating facebook for his friends so we could keep tabs on his recovery. and i have to say, in those 3+ months, what a recovery process it has been. he has become increasingly more aware of his surroundings, so much so that as far as we know, he still has most of his memory. its truely amazing how much progress he has made already in the time since the accident. it proves that he has the heart, and the willpower to make it through this. Ian is the strongest person i know, and has been and will forever be, the biggest inspiration in my life.
